Design consultation & custom planning
Every Blu Sol project begins with a personal consultation with our owner Jeff. We visit your property, assess your space, and work with you to design a pool that fits your home's architecture, your family's lifestyle, and your vision. You'll receive a detailed 3D rendering before a single shovel enters the ground.
Permits & approvals
We handle every aspect of the permit process with your municipality — including variance applications, zoning reviews, and inspection scheduling. In Northern New Jersey, permit timelines vary significantly by town. Our experience across Bergen, Passaic, Morris, and Essex Counties means we know exactly what each municipality requires and how to avoid delays.
Excavation
Once permits are approved, our crews excavate your backyard to the precise dimensions of your pool design. We handle all soil removal, manage underground utility clearances, and address any sub-surface conditions including rock, high water table, or tree roots.
Steel reinforcement
A grid of steel rebar is installed throughout the pool shell, tied to exact engineering specifications. This steel skeleton is what gives a gunite pool its structural strength and longevity. Blu Sol uses commercial-grade rebar throughout — no shortcuts.
Plumbing & electrical rough-in
All plumbing lines and conduit for electrical systems are installed before the concrete is applied. This includes returns, skimmers, main drains, lighting conduit, automation wiring, and any specialty features like water features, in-floor cleaning systems, or spa jets.
Gunite application
Trained technicians apply the pneumatic concrete mix — gunite or shotcrete — in layers around the steel framework, building up the shell to 6–8 inches of solid concrete. The application process is fast and precise, producing a structurally monolithic shell with no seams or joints.
Tile, coping & decking
With the shell cured, we install your selected waterline tile, coping (the cap material around the pool edge), and surrounding deck surface. Blu Sol works with premium natural stone, pavers, bluestone, and architectural concrete — all selected in consultation with you.
Equipment & finishing
Pool equipment is installed and connected — pump, filter, heater, automation system, LED lighting, and any specialty systems. The interior surface (plaster, pebble, or quartz finish) is applied, the pool is filled, and water chemistry is balanced. We walk you through every system before handing over the keys.
